Lord Byron, was an English poet and a leading figure of the Romantic Movement. Some of his best known works are the poems "She walks in Beauty", "So, we'll go no more a roving" and "When we Two Parted". He is regarded as one of the greatest and influential British poets. He was born with talipes, a club foot. he was afflicted with a limp that caused him lifelong psychological and physical misery, aggravated by painful and pointless "medical treatment" in his childhood and the nagging suspicion that with proper care it might have been cured. He was extremely self-conscious about this from a young age, nicknaming himself le diable boiteux (French for "the limping devil"). It is said that he "walked with difficulty but wandered at will". He toured Europe extensively and captured the popular imagination through his poetry and his personality. From gloomy egoism through to satiric realism he was renowned for his writings, his sexual ambivalences and his championing of Greek independence from the Turks. His name is still used as an adjective - 'Byronic', meaning dashing.” Inspired? Like us in Facebook for daily updates. Good Day.

I love his writings and have a number of books with his poetry in it. Informative is all-too-short article on him.
